Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the BMW custom installation kit for your turnoverball gooseneck hitch. These rails are going to allow you to install your BMW turnoverball gooseneck trailer hitch. If you already have one from another vehicle, you're getting a new vehicle, or maybe you got one secondhand, something along those lines, this will allow you to install that trailer hitch in place underneath your truck bed so that you can haul your gooseneck trailers.Now, these bars are going to be a custom fit for your 2020 and newer GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500, as long as they don't already have that OEM prep package. So, these are going to be very easy to get installed, and will allow you to use that turnoverball gooseneck trailer hitch.Now, this set does not come with the hitch, obviously.

So it is going to be for those of you who already have a hitch. You got one second hand, you already had one in another vehicle, something along those lines. If you don't already have one of those hitches, we do have the total package available for you, going to fit the same year, make and model range for your GMCs and Chevrolet trucks. So if you need the whole package, I would recommend going with that. But if you already have that turnoverball gooseneck hitch, this is going to be the kit that you need to get that installed on your new Sierra or Silverado.These are going to have a weight capacity that is equal to your vehicle's towing weight capacity, so you're only going to be limited by your vehicle.

This does have a nice, sturdy steel construction with a powder coat finish to it, so it's going to resist rust and corrosion, which is especially important, being up there underneath your truck where it's going to get water splashed up on it and that sort of thing. So it's going to hold up well, do a good job, be nice and sturdy and strong for you, allowing you to get that gooseneck hitch in your truck bed where you need it.These are made here in the USA, so you can trust they're made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S., and they do come with a limited lifetime warranty, so you can trust they're going to hold up well and do a good job for you.So again, if you already have that gooseneck coupler, this is going to be the set for you to get that installed on your vehicle. Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.

Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.

Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield.

I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.

Shipping was super fast and the Product was exactly what I was looking for. Fits flush with the bead and out of the way for anything you decide to haul. And the ball is stored in place without having to keep it somewhere else. Only issue I had was with Chevrolet. They had one of the nuts welded in crooked and I had to do some adjusting on one of the holes. Everything else was perfect. Very well made and instructions are pretty decent. You can watch a YouTube video if you have problems

Ok first off. The paint adhesion of any b&w product is probably the worst I've seen for the money. The paint is the first thing that falls off.

That being said if you know that already and take some precautions like I did then you can really easily fix this problem.

I sandblasted the back half of my frame and did the 3 step por-15 method on everything. I currently live in Indiana and I do seldomly drive it in the winter but I hate rust and will be moving more south shortly.

I por-ed every part that came with the hitch. Every bolt and nut got anti-seize. The bolts are also of basic quality and will rust fast. Anything that was metal on metal contact has a layer of marine grease to prevent the from from rusting in between. I'm extra but I felt that this was the only way to go to protect everything. It's still a great product and hasn't let me down yet.

Has been working well. Although it's a DIY project, I had it installed by my mechanic. Did an excellent job and I've not had any issues. As this is only 1 year old installed, I give 4 stars. Still solid in bed and looks good. Hauling my 14k 5th wheel has been much easier than installing a 5th wheel hitch and losing bed space. I would recommend this product.

I bought this hitch for my 2014 Ram 1500. I love it. I've had a few gooseneck hitches in my life and this one is my favorite. I love the fact you can unlock the ball in the bed without jumping in and out. Just turn the key provided and turn the ball over. If I replace this truck down the road, I will be ordering this hitch again. Great hitch, strongly recommend.

The B&W turnover ball system is the cleanest and most well thought out way to install a gooseneck ball into any truck on the market. while etrailer warned me that the firestone air spring kits (f2025) couldnt be used with an in bed hitch, they actually can and work in wonderful harmony. installation was a breeze. I would highly recommend both systems. as a sidenote, i needed this system delivered to me quickly around a holiday and etrailer came through!

I bought this for my son, who moved back to the farm, and bought a good used 2002 Chevy duramax so we would have a second truck to pull cattle trailers and haul hay with a fifth wheel flat bed trailer. The B&W underbed turn over ball hitch mounted great and relatively easily. It has performed excellently. My son likes the turn over ball that allows for full use of the pickup box for other uses.

Between the videos and the instructions it was very easy to follow. If you’re like me and don’t want to cut your fender liners I simply removed the front bed bolts and jacked one side up to slide in the mounting rails. The only fender I had to cut was the drivers side to allow for the latch pin lever. I really like just how “flush” the hitch really is once you turn over the ball. Overall very impressed with the hitch so far and have already recommended the hitch to other family members and friends.

This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.

This is my second B&W GN hitch from Etrailer. 1st is over 2 years and this one is a year. Both have worked almost flawlessly. Only issue I have is that the ball release latch on this last one is really difficult to get to stay latched open to turn the ball.

The B&W hitches are the best in the business. I have had 6 of them now from a 92 Dodge, an 07 Dmax, a 2012 HD2500, a 15 Dodge, a 19 HD2500 and a 21 Dmax and now this latest one in an 06 HD2500. I HAVE HAF ZERO ISSUES WITH ALLBOF THESE HITCHES. ZERO!!!!!!!!!.
